Aventura and BIO-key® International, Inc. Partner to Provide Biometric Solution for Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances

(OTCQB: BKYI), to provide a biometric authentication solution for the electronic prescribing of controlled substances (EPCS). Due to Aventura and BIO-key’s open architectures, this partnership delivers one of the most flexible solutions for e-prescribing; one that supports all DEA-approved authentication modalities, and works with the leading electronic health records (EHR), on any device.
Accurately authenticating each EHR user at sign on is absolutely essential for protecting patient data and preventing system misuse. In a typical healthcare setting where many people may have potential access to the workstation, laptop or other device running the EHR application, every critical action and transaction should be properly authenticated. A top challenge for healthcare organizations is balancing security with convenience for busy physicians and other EHR users.
